"Why doesn't anyone offer an automatic transmission in a motorcycle?"

There was a time when all automobiles were manual shift, but before long most were sold with automatics as consumers quickly gravitated toward their convenience and ease of use.

While there have been attempts at an automatic motorcycle, the results have been less than revolutionary. If you found it hard to look cool on a scooter, your only other
choices were a lawnmower-powered snowmobile bike or something resembling Wild
Bill's Road Dog.

The first reaction we get from seasoned bikers is, "Why on earth would you want to do that?" But if you ask those who don't yet own a motorcycle, they usually will admit that they've always wanted to ride, but were afraid to learn. With the Walters Manufacturing automatic transmission, anyone can get out on the highway.

While it took about eight months to get the bike moving under its own power, we spent the next two years getting it just right. Every part was redesigned to improve reliability, simplicity and servicability.

Walters Manufacturing knows that our simple improvement may not change the world of motorcycling for everyone, but we're proud of our efforts to open up the sport to a wider range of riders.
